ahhh mr. adkins, the man himself. a bit of ma movie trivia for you, fist of legend is a remake of fist of fury ( in england) the story of chan che returning to avenge his master. do you know what movie would be considered to be the prequil to this? i will give you a hint, it came out recently with a big star, and a famous action director.. armour of god is one of my all time faves, because of all the wrecking in the end of the film. jacky is one of the gods. and of course ong bak, that movie was totally groundbreaking. great list boss! lets see how good your ma trivia is.. hit me back dawg...

Mr. Perry, I could also name The Karate Kid Trilogy and Best Of The Best as my favourite MA films. I know Ralph Macchio isn't much of a butt kicker but they sure spread a solid message about martial arts in general and I know you being a Tae Kwons Dough expert will be down with Best Of The Best. Another guilty pleasure is all of the No Retreat No Surrenders, including King Of The Kickboxers. Vanberch, I'm glad U2 gets the mention.

2) Enter the dragon
3) Drive
4) Undisputed 2
5)Fist Of Legend

1) Undisputed 2
2)Ong Bak
3)Enter the dragon

from Jacky I would name who am I (the whole endfight is so great and the house running is insane) or Drunken master two (endfight again awesome)

I haven´t seen the whole movie yet but I love the flashpoint fights...since I am so much into mma and I think Donnie´s new style of mixing flashy Kung Fu with mma stuff is just awesome...and I think has a lot of future with mma becomeing bigger and more known

I have pretty high hopes for blood and bone to stay in my dvd player for long time... Wink

And I have to name King of the Kickboxers with loren avedon, Billiy tae bo blanks, and Keith Hirabayashi..
was the first fight movie I watched when I was 6 and that made me wann do martial arts...the scene where Keith does the tripple sidekick was so unbelievabel to me at that point that I always wanted to learn that move (I can do it now.. Wink ) and the endfight is for me still today very great...like two crazy guys just going wild kicking at eachother!!! I know the movie itself ist just cheap shit...but the fight was awesome....

for thoose who don´t know the movie...

this is the scene´where I knew I must do martial arts ....and learn the tripple yoko tobi...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iKzrVbZdGwg

and the still great to watch endfight....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y86Jsv-o9rQ&feature=related

and If you two start where you ended I am shure UD3 will be my absolute fave martial arts movie!!! Cool

cheers guys, Smile

cool topic! i enjoy it.

btw, a top 10 would have been easier for me to list about my fav MA films. there are still a lot that would list and could beat some of my top 5´s but i choose them how often i already watched them, just like NIK did. i mentioned U-2 not because i wanna plase scott and JJ in the first. it´s my honest opinion....give that U-2 budget anybody from europe and america to make a MA film these days, i think no one would come close to this. you guys are great!

again, we should make a top 10.

Kickboxer, Best Of The Best, Game Of Death, Drunken Master, Kill Zone SPL would be in my list as well........

i am glad you guys decided to weigh in!! mr. adkins the movie is fearless starring jet li, direc. woo ping, it was the true story of huo yuanjia, the founder of thejin wu school, the guy in the picture bruce lee and jet li were kow towing to. be careful how you slander the tae kwon dough! the kicking gods wont like it!!! repent sinner repent!!

vanB, return of the dragon is one of my faves also, it was the only film that bruce lee wrote and directed himself, plus chuck norris and bob wall were in it, also dug the music! game of death was another one he wrote and directed, but unfortunatly he never got to finish it.

bigG, i am supprised drive made your list, we filmed that one in 5 weeks, workin 7 days a week, huge wrecks! everyone went big in that one.

boyka, thats a familliar name! you totaly right about kieth cooke hirabayashi, he was and still is one of the cleanest kickers in the game. he did the same triple side on me in the 2nd mortal combat, it was really cool doing that fight with him, he was and still is one of my idols.
keep it coming, top ten, whats your next 5.

Game of death would be one of the greatest if it ever got made...the few scenes of it are awesome...I love the escrima scene with dan....wow!!!!

OH shit!!! Yes you where Scorpion in that one??? I loved that scene!!! The 2nd MK wasn´t a real good movie but I loved some of the fights big time!!!! (also the move tony ja doubled for Robin!!)
Actually that fight with you and Keith was my fave!!! They cutted his tripple kick and made it look like it was a five time yoko tobi Wink still looked cool!!! Keith has and had amazeing skills...he never got to use them outside the MK films and KOTK though....china o brien didn´t show that much....

About the name....well I love this movie!!! Its my all time fave no shit you two! I watched it like a gazillion of times and I love the damn thing!!! And I love the charactere of Boyka...he is like the darth vader of martial arts...the greates master ever, but a bit dark may be!! Wink I though of changeing my JCVD forum name into Boyka too(from balck belt)...but I just stick with the avatar...

about some other choices....

as I said in some month I bet Blood and bone would stay here... Cool
I am also very curious about never back down...I ve seen some of the fights and I loved them...all reall mma techniques but in some fancy display of them....could be great work...

But for the top ten.....
From Jc ok Bloodsport has to be in, although I love the most the training scenes of Kickboxer of all his martial arts scenes...that was his best shape ever!!

Into the top ten would also Kiss of the dragon made it...it is probably my fave Jet movie...I like him doing almost no wire work, since I hate wire work if it isn´t for the use of stunt people flying away...that is way most Jet movies aren´t in there for me...if you need wires don´t do it or change your job...
And I like the whole setting, the actors, the villain and its the only real use of great great Cyrill Rafaelli so far...who is awesome...PLus I love the escrima scene hommage to fist of fury....

I stay with the choice of the man himself MR Adkins menteoning Best of the best...that one was and is one awesome martial arts film and a great display of the kicking art TKD!!! Graet finale!!!

Since I did a lot of capoeira.. and I am a baptized Capoeirista...only the strong has a place in my heart for some beautifull scenes....standing allone also the fight with Jaa and Lateef Crowder (tom Yum Goon had great fights...movie was crap though!! Crying or Very sad )....SO PLEASE YOU TWO...IF THERE IS ANY CHANCE STAY WITH THAT CAPOEIRA PROJECT!!!!! THIS ONE HAS TO BE MADE ONE DAY!!!!!!!! PLEASE!!!!!!

And a funny choice for that list has to be "the Hunted" with Tommy lee Jones and Benicio del Torro....If you all think I am stupid...I have to say I love ESCRIMA and train it for about 6 years now...and this has the best and most authentic knive fights in it so far seen (confirmed by all my escrima masters) they are unreal for the fact that a real knive fight is over in seconds with one dead and one seriously wounded, but the techniques shown are the best filmed so far...

Yesand I would agree with vanberch on SPL...that fight with sammo was one for the ages (tripple side again!!! I love this Kick!!!!) Although Flashpoint did an advanced form of this mma kung fu mix and was even better than SPL....But SPL had sammo....so???
this fight of flashpoint is so modern dramatic and still flashy... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ePEbsJSnz54&feature=related love it!!!

Oh speaking of Donnie...although I love his most recent work best...there are some golden oldies there aswell...although a nonstory movie at all I loved to watch legend of the wolf...wow there are some extremly fast and intense fights in it and some are so long and still so catching...somehow I always liked Donnies fights more tahn Jets....maybe because he is much more physical and doesn´t relie so much on wires...

And I have to sent in some Gary Daniels in there who also falls under the section guilty pleasure...I loved fist of the North Star wich is a kicking fiesta or we can put Riot in wich is also nonstop action and Kicking all the way

blade - i loved the fights in the 1st and 2nd easily wesleys best martial arts wise

rumble in the bronx - i really liked this film as this was the film that got jackie recognised in the u.s.

last samurai - this film i thought was going to be crap with Tom Cruise and boy did i change my view afta watching it, i think this is a great film. Yea Tom is no high kicker but i thought he did an awesome job in this film.

meals on wheels - jackie vs benny is definatley in my top fights of all time, just excellent.

Another nice one for me is recent dynamite warrior...its not ong bak but its a much better movie than tom yum goon and its very innovative wit´h the fights....they excessivly use their knees doing many kicks with the knee instead of the foot...and there are some awesome moves in it.....
