Jason Statham IMDb Mini Biography By: Mikedavies86

Trivia

Did nearly all of his own stunts in The Transporter (2002), including car chase sequences, scuba diving sequences and fight sequences.

His break into the entertainment business came when an agent put him on an advertisement for the French Connection clothing company.

Prior to The Transporter (2002) he already had a background in martial arts which enabled him to perform his own fight sequences.

Was originally set play Private Cooper in Dog Soldiers (2002), but dropped out to star in Ghosts of Mars (2001).

Offered the role of Agent 47 in Hitman (2007) after Vin Diesel was dropped from the project. Timothy Olyphant eventually took the role.

Well trained in mixed martial arts and is an expert in kick boxing.

hmmm.....nothing here about him being champion in kickboxing, so that means?..........................OH SHIZZLE I WAS MIS-INFORMED! my bad:(

I liked crank a lot too...it isn´t to take serious....in reality it was stupid from start to the end...but one of the freakiest funniest films I´ve seen!

I still don´t get who a second part should be done....

Hmmm..Top 5 Action Directors:
1) John Woo (Some of his U.S. work wasn't as great, but I mostly blame the producers for that. I still
remember seeing The Killer back when it first came out and being blown away!)

2) John McTiernan (Die Hard and Predator...need I say more!)

3) Richard Donner (I love the Lethal Weapon series!)

4) George Cosmatos (R.I.P.) (Rambo, Cobra, Tombstone....classics!)

5) Ted Kotcheff (First Blood, Uncommon Valor, Hidden Assassin)

Up and coming:
1) Isaac Florentine (liked Undisputed 2 and Special Forces)
2) Peter Berg (love The Rundown and The Kingdom)

heres mine:
1) Michael Bay (Hes made some awesome actiion sequences over the years)
2) James Cameron (terminator and T2 and aliens)
3)John woo (face off,hard target)
4)Robert Rodriguez (i love how he does shootouts for his films and really makes it seem its not cgi)
5)John McTiernan(again die hard, die hard 3 and predator)

notable mentions:
Sly Stallone : Rambo 4 is all that needs to be said :)

issac florentine :i will definatley be checking his films because if he can make a great film like undisputed 2 with a low budget then im sure he can do something outstanding with a big budget.

Steve Spielberg : even tho hes not a full on action director some films he has done have had some awesome action scenes

Its a hard one...

I would say 1)Woo..his last ones were bad but he was the only action director whos name allone made me watch..

2)Isaac...still hasn´t come to his full potenzial but UD2 is my fave and he knows how to work with martial artists...where isaac is there are fights...and thats a word..
3)christopher gans (don´t know if he is written like that) crying freeman, pact of the wolfes...he is a martial arts mix poetry director...
the rest...well hard to choose there are some good ones but none that only by there work on a project make me watch

but I have some extra choices

4)Sly...Rambo and rocky...anything this old man makes right now...I´ll watch it
5)Bruce Lee...starnge choice I know, but I loved the way of the dragon and I still think game of death would be the best martial arts film ever made if it got finished!!!!

a little late, but here are my lists:

top 5 fights:
1: final of DRAGON LORD .. really love that violent, "realistic" style .. wish jackie would have done more like this

2: final of FLASHPOINT .. donnies best fight till date .. crazy how real it feels

3: final of FIGHTER IN THE WIND .. I mean the part were the main guy fights a bunch of people in the field .. totally love that scene

4: "lost footage" from GAME OF DEATH .. still cannot believe how inventiv that guy was .. awesome

5: any fight from "Project A" or "Police Story"

(That list changes like every two or three days .. there are sooooooo many great fights out there)

best action directors:

1: John Woo ... that guy is still one of my biggest idols, because of him I wanted to get behind the camera .. HardBoiled is still the best gun movie out there

2: James Cameron .. for sure one of the most inventiv directors in the business .. he made it to make big budget b-movies like no one else, cant wait for AVATAR

3: Jackie Chan .. its crazy how he made it to change the style martial arts is presented on screen for about 3 times

4: Richard Donner .. lethal weapon 1-4 .. dont need to say more

5: John McTiernan .. Die Hard 1, 3; Predator

biggest action heros:

1: Buster Keaton .. watch his flicks and you will see who is the real hero of action movies

2: Jackie Chan

3: Sylvester Stallone

4: Chow Yun Fat .. Hard Boiled, The Killer, A Better Tomorrow .. I guess thats all I need to say

5: Arnold Schwarzenegger .. together with Sly he made it to make actionmovies one of the biggest things in the 80ties
