wow that is hard since there are new ones and the classic who are gone by now...well and in order...

I´ll do a top ten in order...

1)Arnold...has always to be nummero uno...he invented action...and I am austrian..love all his movies just for the language...I really love to do arnold imitations...(saved me lots of time once during a bodyguard job when I had trouble at the miami airport passcontroll)
2)Bruce Lee...still a legend...still copied and he is the one who created the larger than life action hero and opend doors for all to come
3) Jacky Chan...as the one who gave stuntman the credit they deserve and risked his life more than once...
4) Stallone...started late...did a lot of shit aswell but has some awesome movies...and has to be top five for being over 60 and makeing the action flics of the year...hell of an inspiration..
5) Scott himself...well I am not sucking up here...but honestly he recently kicked van damme of this place with one of his awesome kicks...he hasn´t done much yet...but UD2 is my movie love and I ´have the highest hopes for him...go kick wolverines ass Scott!!!
6) Van Damme...he made me start karate and inspired me very often....he is not really into action any more although he could which makes him go a bit lower for me but he always has a place in my list
7)Michael Jai Wite...has yet to start...but UD2 was awesome and I ´ve such high hopes for BAB...I am shure he will work up my list...because he looks like freakin black arnold and moves like freakin black bruce lee...I believe he is a mutant...
8)Tony Jaa....he can´t act...he looks like my left leg...but he reinvented the fighting movies...can´t wait for ong bak 2....and thanks tony for stopping muay boran from extinction!!! Its an amazeing art!!!
9) Dolph...the man in the shadows...He woulnd´t have been here if I wouldn´t love his recent movies...I love his firts ones hated all DTV shit until direct action...now he is back on track, back in shape and does the best movies of his carreer...
10)Donnie Yen.... yes no jet for me...why...I am not so much into wires..and donnie is more my style... harder, cleaner kicks and so on....he is an amazeing coreograph and does the best HK movies right now...

11) would be Dwayne Johnson...he is an awesome funny man, cool actor, greeat physique but hasn´t done too much action yet
12) would be jason statham....martail arts bruce willis...love him...has to do more stuff
13) Bruce die hard willis...just for the die hard series

somewhere 2o) segal...he ate places 14 to 19... Wink

wow hard choice but I think I am fine like that...although i have to name top ten...cause I watch all there movies...and arnold and bruce and jacky ahve to satnd there for their legacy...even if they are not (or in JC case not so much) in action any more...

and if this was audio...I would have done it in my loved by evrybody arnold voice!! Wink

1) Stallone - hes done 2 awesome franchises rambo and rocky, plus i love what he has achieved now!
2) Van Damme - Jc is the one who inspired me to get into martial arts and along with stallone make me want to train and make myself more fit.
3) Arnold - Well what can you say about Arnold he has achieved soo much top of his game in bodybuilding, again top action star then is now governor. Plus arnie as always appeared bigger than life on screen and has an unstoppable presence.
4)Bruce Willis - I like how bruce now is varying his roles with like sixth sense etc and can still pull of action films aswell.
5) Jet li - i know why is jackie not on there but i find jet li's recent films have entertained me alot more.

other mentions jason statham, jackie chan.

I would mention Scott but i want him to have a few more films under his belt as the main star before i add him to my list, but he will definatley be near the top.

Hey guys...just found this forum. I read over some of the posts and let me say that this place is awesome!

Here are my top 5 lists:

Older:

1. Return of the Dragon / Fist of Fury (The Chinese Connection) -
I really love both of these movies about the same. I would say Fist of Fury is a little more intense. It still
cracks me up in the English-dubbed version where Bruce says - "This time your'e eating paper...next time
you'll be eating glass!"

2. Fist of Legend- definitely Jet's best. It was the 1st film from him that I ever saw and I must say he has yet
to really match it.

3. Dragon's Forever- I know everyone talks about Jackie's fight with Benny the Jet in Wheel on Meals, but I
actually prefer the fight in this one. It seems grittier and more intense to me. I also love
the backflip that Yuen Biao does on the catwalk. Awesome movie!

4. The Perfect Weapon - I loved this movie when I was a kid. I remember seeing it in theater. The fight in
the gym with James Lew and 2 other guys is still fun to watch.

5. Rapid Fire - Even though Brandon Lee wasn't nearly as good as many other martial artists, this movie was
simply just alot of fun! I love the small wing chun flurry during the boiler room fight with Al
Leong. The stair case kick in the party shoot-out scene is also awesome. It is even
entertaining how many editing mistakes there are throughout the entire film.

Newer:
1) Undisputed 2 - nothing outside of Asia has even come close!

2) Drive - I know it's a bit older, but it still seems new to me. Definitely Mark's best work!

3) SPL - Never really got into Donnie Yen's stuff until I saw this! WOW! (Still waiting to see Flashpoint!)

4) Ong Bak / The Protector - Not sure which one I like better....Tony Jaa is truly talented and I think he is
pretty well-rounded in his approach to fight scenes!

5) Fearless- I'm not a big fan of wire work and some of the editing was a bit annoying, but I really liked the
story and the night time fight scene where he killed the rival master.

hmm.....judging after the fight skills: jet li-liked his part in unleashed where he chokes that big guy to death from one hit in the neck.scott adkins without a doubt-reason?because he is just a natural born talent, although he hasnt appeared in many movies,in the ones he did he proved that he is one of the best in the bussiness.wesley snipes-as the blade carachter{blade 2}liked the fight between him and luke goss{who would have guessed?}.mj white in univ.soldier-the return, the last fight of the movie is sick he beats jc ass senseless.ryan reynolds liked his acting in smokin' aces.these are my top five!!!

I may have said it before but if i had to pick a top five of
my favorite action stars out of my 10 in my previous post I would say

1. Jackie Chan cause I dont think half the stunt actors
would be here if it wasnt for his contribution to the genre of action films. He has broken just about every bone in his body and been injured in so many different ways.

2. Donnie Yen - he has more range in terms of fighting styles and action movements on screen in comparisons to jet li.

3. Scott Adkins - the name pretty much explains it.

4. Jacky Wu Jing - A much more younger and more improved version of jet li. He has the looks, the moves and his screen chrisma has come along really
well in the last 3 years since spl but like scott adkins
he needs more leading roles to become a leading name in action films.

5. Michael Jai White - the reason he is picked last cause he never really got as many decent roles in action films but i've always knew he was great martial
artist and actor that needed to be given more changes. Undisputed 2 is phenominal and i cant wait
2 c blood and bone and black dynamite.

Honorable mentions: Bruce Lee and jet li. The reasons
i didnt include them cause 1. I already did in my previous post on this topic 2. I think most of us if not
all of us like bruce and jet so i dont think i have to stress that again.

Now for my top five favorite non-martial arts action stars

1. Jason Statham - like both of the transporter movies and crank. Heard their making transporter 3 Smile

2. Matt Damon - he impressed me with the action
sequences in the bourne movies despite the shaky camera movements and fast editing.

3. Wesley Snipes - The daywalker.

4. Bruce Willis - He was a hardass in the die hard movies.

5. Mark Wahlberg - He did one action flick that i like
in particular, The Big Hit.

My friend, Statham and Wesley are both martial artists!
from imdb - Jason Statham:
"Prior to The Transporter (2002) he already had a background in martial arts which enabled him to perform his own fight sequences."

and from imdb - Wesley
"He is a 5th degree black belt.
Practices Capoeira, Brazilian martial arts.
He has mastered numerous martial arts forms including the Brazilian street fighting form Capoeira.
Introduction and training in the martial arts was first by fellow classmate and now fight co-coordinator/technical advisor Marcus Salgado."

Our died master…Bruce Lee… I think he was really the best… did his job without any new stuff and cheesy montages…did all by himself and still amazing when you look to his moves… his around kick is still the best and he was the first Asian action actor that open the doors to other Asian actors…it was so hard but he could!

Austrian hero! Arnold… who one can ignore him???!!!! The best physique and style for ever… actually no one has his style…his face…his voice…his body … all the best together in one!!! I justlove him… I never seen someone like him when he hold his gun in his hands… in predator…in terminator…I still think the scene in terminator 2 when he go to a bar is on of the best opening scene…"I need you clothes…your boots…and your motorcycle…" and when he kick some pussy men ass!!! He was the best during his bodybuilding life too… Ronny Coleman…jay Cuttller…Flex wheeler…no one is comparable with him!
If you like who am I? and drunken masre2 and accept that they change man things so can you ignore Jackie Chan from your list? Our funny hero did his job along and after Bruce lee and his name on billboard of a film can attract you to movie… he is a actor and stunt at the same time and actually every one know him in every place… he is really funny and I really like him but who am I? and drunken master2 (mainly on fights) at least change my view to ma on that time…
I really like jet lee too…but he don’t work on a line… I meaning some times you see an amazing movie from him but sometimes it not on that way…I don’t like wire fights and he use them a lot! Kiss of the dragon is my fav movie from him…
Stallone…recently I saw Rambo 4 and I am wonderer of his style when he is in upon age!! Even I like his non ma films like lock up!! I really like him and he don’t need to advertising…I will wait for rsambo5!
The guys I mentioned as you know are stars in ma flicks and I think they are legendary…I think we have to put them in another stage in our opinion and have to talk about new heroes…
Our own Scott although he has to do more but who one played Boyka's role is awesome for me… he did enough for me (just is my opinion) and I can't find fault with him in undisputed2 …I will wait to see him on top pf success stage. and un3 will be the greatest film for me where Boyka is win all over the film!!!!!
I very looking forward to joy ansah's upcoming films…although I saw a short fight of him in bourn3 but I think he is really cool!!
Michale ja white…thought he beat up Boyka in un2 !!! but he is a collection of ma art…and build up that body like professional bodybuilders…moor… I am curios to know what that film will be about and looking forward to see blood and bone with over 14 fight scenes!!!
…. I will add more when they come in my mind!!...

I Appreciate you pointing that out to me but i already knew jason has a background in martial arts, I know hes
a former kickboxing champion plus he studies MMA and i definitely knew wesley does some capoeira. Perhaps u misunderstood me but let me explain why i said the top five non-martial arts action stars, I didnt say non-martial artists, I said non-martial arts action stars, which means their sometimes an action star but not really martial arts stars. My understading of a martial arts star is an actor/martial artist that stars in films that are required to do martial arts and are in demand of their physical abilities in that area. Jackie chan is a martial arts star because he stars in films mainly in that genre while on the other hand i dont really consider wesley or jason at that a martial arts star, an action star yes but not really a martial arts star because most of their films they are acting and not required to do any martial arts. Jason have to do a few more movies before i consider him a martial arts star, hes only done 2 or 3 movies with martial arts action.

Ok...wesley idi capoeira...which he said...he studied some shaolin kung fu in the ny shaolin temple..which I know and he has here and there different belts in different styles...which he often said in interviews...but in what styles should he have a 5th dan??? I read that in tv magazines and unqualified sources aswell...once even written he has a 5th dan in capoeira...

And jason...he had for shure some background...which was said in transporter making of ...but champion??? he was a swimmer or something like that...but I never found some hard facts about his ma background either...

has anybody hardfacts???

A while ago I've read that he was a kickboxer somewhere on wikipedia last year unless i've been mis-informed.
His bio has changed a little since then.
