I would have loved to see a character based on Boyka. I usually pick Bruce and try to model him after Boyka, hahahaha. I think Dragunov has some of Boykas moves, well he does have the guyver kick and some great ground moves.
Tekken 6 is an awesome game.

Sadly no. But you can customize your characters more than ever(new hair, clothes and lots of more things). I made Law into Bruce Lee from opening of Enter The Dragon, hehe. I also put in some songs into my xbox. Now every time I play Tekken 6 I can listen to Bring it on from U2, lol.

I always thought that Yuri Boyka character is sort of a mix of Bruce and Dragunov from the Tekken series.

Not sure about Boyka character being in the games (since they have Bruce and Dragunov already - but who knows? Hwoarang and Baek both use taekwondo, but they use different styles of taekwondo, so I wouldn't totally rule out the possibility), but if they ever consider making a sequel to the current movie (assuming it does well), I'd like to see Micheal Jai White as Bruce.

But yeah, it's a shame we won't be able to see any submission/grappling moves from Dragunov in the Tekken movie (since Anton Kasabov is taekwondo practitioner)

Having said that, I'd love to see Scott play Johnny Cage in the upcoming Mortal Kombat movie (that is, if the dispute between Warner and Threshold is settled)

Yeah he does have the guyver kick. If it isn't the guyver kick then it sure looks like it.

To me, Boyka really represents what you'd expect to see if a Shaolin Monk ever fought in MMA rules - both of them would completely destroy anyone they go up against. When I think of a Shaolin Monk, the only way I can think of to sum him up is "power incarnate". A Shaolin Monk is THE last person in the world I'd want to fight; they live by a strict Buddhist code, but they are trained to fight, plain and simple, and they just adapt so easily to any set of circumstances they fight under.
Also, Bokya's lifestyle is just so similar to a Shaolin Monk's. Whenever he's not in the ring, he's either training or praying (although Boyka's a Catholic rather than a Buddhist.) Boyka has a strict honor code in and out of the ring. However, where they differ is that Shaolin Monk's are passive, they don't a lay a finger on someone until they're given absolutely, positively no other choice. Boyka, on the other hand, has three murders on his head at the beginning of UD2, and he kills the guys who rigged his fight with Chambers, so hopefully, UD3 will explore more of Boyka's past and why he is the way he is.

Also, JJ, on the note of Michael Jai White as Bruce Irving, all I can say to that is: You read my mind, bro!

Just because you're a shaolin monk doesn't mean that your god. Everybody is human and it's not like this "A shaolin monk goes in to the UFC cage and he's sure to destroy his opponent" It's never like that. Even a man who has no martial arts experiece can beat a man who does have years of training. In the end Martial Arts doesn't guarantee victory, it only makes you prepared for what's to come. I think people should stop talking about monks like they are superman or something.

I agree that it's the warrior that matters rather than the weapon/fighting style, and I'm just giving my opinion based on observing training methods, fighting techniques, focus, pain tolerance, drive, and discipline. You might reach a different conclusion, and that's perfectly reasonable, I'm just giving my own. However, my intention was not to just provide an endorsement to a particular sect of martial artists, but to draw a comparison to the character Boyka. I happen to disagree with the observation that he's half Bruce Irving and half Dragunov character, as his style doesn't seem to have any explicitly Thai techniques to it, at least not in UD2. In some of the still pictures for UD3, Scott is using a few flying knees (I believe it's called "Hanuman"), so he may show more Muay Thai in UD3.
