Since The Yoroi Bitsu is basically an armor box containing armor with the families crest or mon on it, who do you think it belonged to ?

it was Fujitas and passed down from Soke to Soke (heas of the family or dojo..)

Also there was something special about the sword in it as well.

Well yeah, the Shinobi Katana has something special in it - but that would be spoiling the movie wouldn't it? I'd wait until more people have seen the movie until I comment on it.
