First of all i want tell a bad news: many people, who wait this movie, was dissapointed. Why? Because they wait a good, serious action-movie like U2, but Isaac give them a tale for children with good, but cheap looking action.

-:

1) Trash music
2) VERY UGLY CGI-effects. Blood, flying Ninja looks bad and cheap.
3) Scott used wires in parcour scenes and this moments looks unprofessionals
4) 5 weeks for fillming action-movie - not enough
5) Last fight wasn't very good, i expected more.
6) Storyline - too childish.

+:

1) Scott Adkins and other actors did good job, but Scott needs more acting's lessons. He has't enough experiense play main characters.
2) Action-non stop, Scott and choreography - are GREAT (but last fight it's not the best, Scott vs 20 guys - the best fight)

Well it seems you're lucky enough to see the film earlier than others through DVD.

But Forum members here couldn't care less whether you trash the film or not - because just because you and any other critic out there trash this film, it doesn't mean it won't be enjoyable to other people.

And please, if your desire is to trash this film, be respectful to forum members who actually are looking forward to this and do it elsewhere - just don't do it here.

p.s. Saying you didn't like it is one thing , but Scott worked his butt off working on this movie (with many injuries) and Issac also worked very hard to make this film, so calling it unprofesional is a very offensive comment - you should be ashamed.

Hm....guys, i don't understand. We are fans or fanatics, which don't see a bad points in Scott's movies. I'am fan and if i see some bad things i will tell about this. It's only my opinion, you can be agree or desagree, it's you deal.

I don't trash this film, i like this movie. Brilliant fights (some of them i like more than fights in Ud2), Scott's stunts was ingredible (my mistake: some papcour scenes he did with out wires), actors did good work, Japan and New-Yourk, filmed in Bulgaria, mostly looking good and not cheap. But i am expected more, because i waited serious action-movie like Ud2 and, i hope, like Ud3, but Ninja - it's more tale for children with rating R :)

P.S. About unprofesional: i used this word, because some moments looks ugly.

Well, I never oppose a criticism, especially constructive criticism. But the way you worded your first sentence seems as if you're intending on trashing this film (who cares what everyone else thinks about this movie? As long as I'm entertained I'll be totally satisfied with it).

You could have expressed it as "Overall I like this movie, and these are the parts that I liked. But there are also parts in there that I disliked.......etc..etc..."

And besides, I'm not sure whether it's really fair to compare this movie with Undisputed 2 because they're different sub-genre (both in martial arts genre, but UD2 in mma action, and Ninja as in traditional/period martial arts). Think I'd rather compare UD2 with UD3 when it comes out. Maybe I might compare this film with ninja assassin because they're both ninja movies (but even with that, Ninja assassin is totally exaggerated action like the matrix whereas Ninja is more reality-based, so my reviews of them would vary a bit)

However, I do apologise if your intent was not to trash this film like those other movie-bashers online.

p.s. By the way, since you've already have the DVD, the DVD does have the original English/Japanese voices in there right, not just the Russian Dub? If it only has Russian Dub, I don't think I'll be able to give a proper review of this movie.

In my copy it has the english with hardcoded words when they speak japanese. Though I honestly like the more realistic action ones when it comes to the martial arts flicks, and do not like it that there is no ninjustu in Ninja Assassin. They know other martial arts but Ninjutsu, where as in say Ninja or any other 80's flick, they knew ninjutsu as well as probally one other japanese martial art like say karate, judo or such as they are from the same island after all.

I absolutely LOVED this movie!!!! It was everything that I was hoping for and more!!! Not only did it pay the perfect tribute to the Ninja and Martial Arts classics of the 80's and 90's ,but it took things to a whole new level with the creativity and choreography! I honestly believe that anyone who is a true fan of Scott's or even Ninja movies in general will definitely love this film! The action was superb. By far the best choreography of any Ninja film I have ever seen, including Sho Kosugi's work! The acting was right on par with what you would expect to see in a martial arts action film. For those that have commented that the last fight was a let down, I would really like to know what movie you were watching? I thought that the final battle was great! Just the right amount of sword play and hand to hand. I also think that Isaac and Scott successfully portrayed the sense of honor and purpose that was central to the storyline. I haven't made up my mind what my favorite fight was yet, but I do know that this is a movie that I will be watching time and time again!!!!!! If you haven't seen it yet, you are in for a treat!!!

I still haven't gave my opinion to this movie! So it's time to do that. I have really enjoyed Ninja. Don't understand why some people are calling it shit. Well, of course, Ninja is quite different than Undisputed 2&3! But I didn't expect a movie in the style of Undisputed. I think it was great to see Scott playing a clean cut hero, who grew up in Japan. The movie is full of action and fight scene's. It could have a little bit more story, but nevertheless the story is still very good. All the figure's in the movie were brilliant. I specially enjoyed the first part of the movie, to see a Japanese shool, where Scott's figure Casey use to train and live. But the final fight, with Scott wearing the Ninja costume and Masazuka was awesome. What need's to be mention also, is the fact, that Isaac has the ability to make look a movie much more expensive, than it is! Everything looks good and a little bit comic-like. My favorite fight scene is the temple fight scene, it is so intensive! Like Isaac said, its a hommage to Bruce Lee's Fist of Fury and it work's definetly!
So if you don't expect a Undisputed kind of movie, Im sure you would enjoy everything!

10 / 10

Other than the fact that Bulgaria doesn't look anything like New York I did really enjoyed this movie. If you grew up those ninja movies from the 80's then I think it stacks up fairly well. The bad guy was memorable and his hi-tech ninja suit was pretty badass. Some very solid fight sequences as well.

I watched this last night. I'm one of those who grew up with ninja movies and from what I saw, it was your typical Ninja movie, bad guy is upset with the good guy, girl in distress, good guy gets the girl, and lots of tomato sauce. However the story line didn't do it for me, it just didn't hook me. Otherwise it was pretty good.
