Scott,

Which martial art would you recommend for someone who has never taken a single martial arts lesson, and that is practical for self defense in the streets against multiple aggressors?

Thanks,
Jesse

PS - Undisputed 2 was great!

I think scott already answered another question like this and i believe he said Krav maga was the best one.
But i'd say Aikido would be a good MA if you haven't taken a single ma lesson before and you want to defend yourself.

Ok...I let everybody his oppinion...but I do martial arts for about 15 years...learned all kinds of styles and was a bouncer and a professioneal bodyguard...so I had some experience in testing styles....

to be honest...try aikido on the street against a real aggressior and you are dead!!! SERIOUS! and I talk about high ranked people...not guys with one hour....

fighting is nothing that can be masterd in short term....stuff like krav maga is especially designed to get basics fast...but that doesn´t mean you will be superior to skilled fighters....

there is no such art that learns you how to 100% succeed against multiple aggressors in short time!!!

BEST THING BY FAR!!! ESCRIMA! (but problem yo need a weapon...) but give me a few days and I teach you the basics with a small stick and you will learn the only functional knive defense (every knive defense without a weapon is luck or suicide...especially that jiu jitsu crap or aikido stuff is proven bullshit) and how to beat up even skilled unarmed fighters....so from that point escrima is most effective...but hardly usable in civilized countries....

And yes...if you wanna spent more time and are sportive I would go western boxing (very underestimated) and muay thai for fighting...I train a lot of Kyokushin now...wich is fun and good too...they sparr full contact with bare knuckles...wich is good for your fists for real fights!!!

If you are not so athletic and physical and you still have the desire to learn how to defend yourself and you would put lots of time in it...you can go with wing chung....if you train very much in that style you can do great even wiithout athletic abilities...
