I think its easier to start with the version he didi in the 2nd ud2 fight were he didi the 360 and threw out a front kick instead and landed....
than doing the ts version doing the 360 and switching to a roundhouskick again landing....

while that work on your standing outward kick (wich needs good hipfelxibility)

step three go over to try the guyver kick....

just my two cents...but I guess Scott or Loco are best to ask

Ok guys,

The only way to do this kick is to fully commit to the fact that you will have to land on your backside, thats the only way to be accurate with it. When you do the jump spinning hook kick, make sure your bottom leg is tucked deep into your groin. If you get enough height and level your body off sideways, you should be able to look at your target as your first leg goes over the top and then snap your bottom leg out at the right time. Best to practice on a soft floor as you will need to wipe out a few times. I've seen it done and landed but I think it's too scruffy this way.

Scott.

P.S. I've not got much to do for the next few weeks, I'm busy healing so ask me some other questions about training and stuff.

thanks mate, is it possible to ask other things as well? of course, not about your recent movies where you can´t reveal too much.

did you hear the lastest new oasis songs "the shock of the lightning" and "falling down"? i guess this is now off topic. 8)

also did you get hurt during the filming of NINJA? sounds like you had a hard ride.

Vanberch,

Oasis remain my favourite band, I grew up with that music and I'll continue to buy all their albums. I've got Falling Down and its a great song. All my mates are going to watch them play the NEC in Birmingham, might even try and go myself.

Ninja was a very tough film for me. I arrived 2 days after finishing Wolverine and I was carrying a bad shoulder injury from that. I've never worked so hard in my life and I kept pushing to make each action scene as long and complex as it could be but it was a very tight schedule, i was running from 1st to 2nd unit constantly. At one point it seemed like I got a new injury everyday. Here's a list:

Sprained ankle
2 bruised heels
Twisted knee
Bruised hips
Twisted wrist
Black eye
Bruised forehead
Damaged thumb
Damaged Elbow
Damaged Neck
and worst of all I hurt my back from smashing myself off the floor too much. Nothing compared to Jackie Chan but it was enough for me to think twice about rolling out of bed each morning. But what do they say "Pain is temporary, film is forever.

Scott.

holy crap, i didn't know you come to the forums Mr Adkins, now that's awesome. You must be the celebrity who's most interactiv with his fans. I don't think Jackie chan or Tony jaa would enter fan sites and talk to people.

Seems like you got a alot of injuries during the filming of Ninja, but hey all those injuries are gonna give us a top quality MA movie and not like Seagal's or Van Damme's new movies, .

You said that we could ask you about other training tips and i'm currently under heavy workout because me and my friends, we do Amateur MA vids. I've already reached the Van damme level and all where you can do the splits perfect. But what i'm really trying to gain is aerial skills and that's why i asked about the guyver kick. I'm gonna perform it some day on my vids. Ohh and how did you get those really cool abs in Undisputed 2??? Also whats the best weight to be around if i'm 6'1 and trying to gain those really cool muscle's you have?

here check this kip up vid of me in youtube

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E97ejI1W5lU

it's not really the best one out there but i like it. Who knows maybe i can reach your level some day Mr Adkins

I try not to do it too much my man as it seems like I'm revelling in my own narcissism but I appreciate that you guys take an interest in my work so as I'm not busy right now it's my pleasure.

You've got to work on jumping high, plyometrics are good for this. The more hang time you get the more tricks you can pull off whilst you're up there.  Abs wise, I'm sorry to say this but I just don't train them, martial arts and gymnastics seem to take care of that for me. I'm 5' 11" and when I did Undisputed 2 I was 14 st or 91kg or something so I reckon you'll be ok just above that but believe me, it's much harder to do ariel stuff when you're at a heavier weight than what your used to. Good kip up, if you can land the first part with your arms fully outstretched it'll be even better. Keep up the training young man,

Scott

I can't believe Boyka answered one of my questions, even better gave me training tips. I think you are great in all of your movies except for shepherd (but you were still awesome) where it felt like you had to dumb down your martial arts abilities for the sake of van damme. He needs to work out more, really work out. Do you have any info on Undisputed 3. heard that boyka is going to be the lead. i don't mean to offend van damme but the movie lacked the energetic fights Undisputed became famous for.

My fav line in Undisputed 2 is

I am pussy. look at your face. your are pussy.

Wow! It's pretty damn cool that you answer questions here. I've actually discovered your movies recently, my friend showed me Undisputed 2 a few weeks ago, I was cheering for Boyka at the end  . Can't wait to see Ninja and the rest of the upcoming stuff.

Stingray that quote is gold!

Wow i can`t believe it, we have Scott Adkins here on the forum cool welcome here mate i have a few questions on you.

Scott you worked with van damme, on TS can you say something about JCs martial arts abilities and is JC a fast and though kicker?

Scott do you have a dream fighters cast, for Undisputed 3? And can you say something about UD-3 filming starts etc?

Undisputed 2 was the best fight movie since Kickboxer and Ong Bak the fight choreographie and your skills were amazing. since UD-2 i am a very big fan from you Scott you are the new generation from the martial arts movie genre.I can`t wait for Ninja and UD-3.

Stingray,

Boyka is the lead. I am really looking forward to getting to play Boyka again and humanise the character some more but also take the action up another level. We have a great script but it's really up to Nu Image whether they want to make it or not. With the success of the 2nd and with the interest in MMA right now I'd be confused if they didn't.

Scott.

I don't think Van Damme was ever fast, Bruce Lee was fast, Donnie Yen is fast. It's not a big deal to be fast, I don't think Tony Jaa looks fast and I definately don't. Van Damme was probably very powerful in his day, I was always attracted to his clean kicks, but for The Shepherd he seemed a bit unprepared physically if I'm honest. He's still one of my biggest inspirations but I think he wasted a great oppertunity to deliver some fantastic action but it's his name above the title so it's up to him really.

I'd love to get Marko Zaror as the main villain. I'd also like Sam Hargrave to play a part, look out for this kid, he's awesome. Nathan Jones, the bigger the better. It's a great script because you've got Boyka going up against people even more crazy than he is. It's up to Nu Image when and if we do it but we have a script.

Scott

Hey Scott! Thx for answering all thoose questions it is so awesome to have you here!

Wow you hadd 91kg while UD2? We already saw your Kata pics from Ninja and you look insanly ripped...what was your weight while that? (you have any idea of you bodyfat level there)

Did you look the same in Wolverine (bodywise)...I guess so since you came straight from the shoot...

Do you plan to gain weight again (do want Byoka even bigger?) for UD3 or do want Boyka to be leaner, so the aerials are easier for you?

Wow you had an awefull list of injuries during that shoot! Hope you heal up fine!!! What Do you do to work through thoose injuries?

Greets! You are the man! Can´t wait for Ninja, wolverine and Ud3!!! Take Care!
