Scott you worked with van damme, on TS can you say something about JCs martial arts abilities and is JC a fast and tough kicker?

I don't think Van Damme was ever fast, Bruce Lee was fast, Donnie Yen is fast. It's not a big deal to be fast, I don't think Tony Jaa looks fast and I definately don't. Van Damme was probably very powerful in his day, I was always attracted to his clean kicks, but for The Shepherd he seemed a bit unprepared physically if I'm honest. He's still one of my biggest inspirations but I think he wasted a great oppertunity to deliver some fantastic action but it's his name above the title so it's up to him really.

Scott do you have a dream fighters cast, for Undisputed 3? And can you say something about UD-3 filming starts etc?

I'd love to get Marko Zaror as the main villain. I'd also like Sam Hargrave to play a part, look out for this kid, he's awesome. Nathan Jones, the bigger the better. It's a great script because you've got Boyka going up against people even more crazy than he is. It's up to Nu Image when and if we do it but we have a script.

Very big thanks Scott, i don`t like van dammes martial arts performance in TS his kicks looked half hearted and not elegant like in his older movies and i agree with you JC was unprepared physically and i noticed that JC was very unmotivated in TS.

I liked the fight scenes from THC much more as from TS JC is still a good martial arts screen fighter but the old van damme days are over, and i think that TS was JCs latest action martial arts movie why JC try a new way for movies he is very concentrating for the acting. And JC wants realistic fight scenes in his next movies its cool i like though realistic fight scenes, and its the best for JC when he makes now realistic fights in his future movies because of his age.

Scott, what i don`t understand why the hell van damme declines to do a 7 minutes planned final fight? What was the reason, why the 7 minutes planned final fight don`t happen?Iam mega dissapointed as i heard this with the 7 minutes planned final fight, i think to work with van damme is not easy he is a very difficult person i heard this from many stuntmens who worked with him.

marc,

i guess it had something to do that JC knew that he isn´t prepared enough to stand the pain against scott adkins on the screen who is "the" martial arts movie talent right now. so better cut the fight down to the half before it could be embarrasing for him. honestly, i really believe that is why JC wanted to take over the editing as well. he was too scared.

i respect JC for his past movies a lot and now even more for his new ones like UNTIL DEATH and JCVD where he showed he can do something new and can act very well but regarding TS JC is for me a bad loser. it´s a shame and at this stage of career with his age it´s even embarrasing what he has done on this project to other people and unfortunally to himself and his fans as well.

i really hope NINJA makes TS looking even more bad!

Guys,

I never want to sound like I'm disrespecting Van Damme, I'm a huge fan and I always will be. When he came along there was no one else like him and he inspired so many people including myself, I really wanted to work with him as I did Jackie Chan and Jet li as they are icons of their genre. The truth is that filming action scenes is really physically demanding, it takes a hell of a lot out of you and only someone that has actually done it can understand just how tiring and painful it really is. As you know JC wants different things for his career now and I don't blame him. At the end of the day I don't think Van Damme trusted that we knew what we were doing but I guess Undisputed 2 should've proved that we did but we never gained his trust. I really wanted to be part of a new movie that put JC back on top action wise but it wasn't to be. Fight scenes are done differently to the way Jc used to do them, the hong kong style is so prevelent and rightfully so and thats the way we wanted to shoot it but JC is used to doing it a different way. He didn't want to do it our way and he scrapped the fight a quarter of the way in, only he knows why and no one was more dissapointed than myself. Personally I want to put the whole thing behind me.

I guarentee you that every fight in Ninja will be better than that one, and believe me, there's a hell of a lot of fights. You will see the way it's suppossed to be done.

Scott.

thanks, that is why i want the DVD´s of "NINJA" and van damme´s recent movie "JCVD" as soon as possible that i can forget about "THE SHEPHERD" as well.

scott, did JC really see "UNDISPUTED 2"? i mean, did he ever watch one isaac florentine "completely"? did JC talk with you about isaac´s films?

we know that JC declines watching other people´s action films these days because he thinks they are not believable but i have the feeling that he didn´t know what an isaac florentine movie is all about when he doing TS. i mean, i would not hire isaac for directing a drama, horror or a romance.
